Meet MauiWine

Our Roots Run Deep

At MauiWine, every bottle tells a story of the land and the people who have cared for it, worked it and shared it with the world. From 19th‑century royalty to today’s ‘ohana, our team is a living link to the rich history of Ulupalakua.

Stewards of Land & Vines

In 2021, the Hegele family was recognized as Maui County Farm Family of the Year, proudly carrying forward a lasting legacy of hospitality and innovation. MauiWine continues to deepen its roots within the community, earning an official Ulupalakua AVA designation and crafting award‑winning wines celebrating Maui island’s unique bounty.

“We are caretakers of this land and its stories. Every guest who walks through our doors becomes part of our extended family.”

Paula Hegele

PRESIDENT - 34 years at MauiWine

Traditional Methods, Maui Style

Our winemakers combine traditional methods with the unique growing conditions of our 23‑acre, 1,700–1,900 foot elevation vineyard. They craft wines from estate‑grown Syrah, Malbec, Chenin Blanc, Viognier, Gewürztraminer and of course, Maui pineapples. All sparkling wines are produced in the Méthode Traditionnelle.

“We don’t just make wine here. We’re continuing a story that began long before us.”
