Maui Blanc

Off-Dry Pineapple Wine

Grown on the slopes of Upcountry Maui, the 100% Maui Gold Pineapples used in this wine are handpicked, crushed, and pressed at MauiWine. Each harvest yields between 60,000 and 84,000 pounds of pineapple specifically selected from fields that are best suited for the crisp and clean Maui Blanc style. The fresh pineapple juice is pumped into 4,000-gallon stainless steel tanks for a cool and steady fermentation over 14 days. Racking, filtration, aging, and finishing takes place over the next 12-16 weeks.

This off-dry pineapple wine is lively and crisp. It is full of that classic, tropical flavor that only 100% Maui Gold pineapples can impart.

Maui Splash

Sweet Pineapple Wine

The development of this extremely popular wine was one of continual transformation. Over the years, Splash has changed not only in its style but also in its use and application. Originally developed as a bar mixer for Makena Resort, it was a very sweet wine. In time, it was introduced into the tasting room as a type of cooler or spritzer and was actually poured along with lemon-lime soft drinks. Eventually, the desire to have the wine stand on its own created what we now have today – a sweet, but not overly sweet, pineapple wine with a touch of the fragrant passion fruit. An easy-to-drink wine to say the least.

Hula o Maui

Brut Sparkling Wine

Pineapple is the “King of Fruits,” and Maui Gold pineapples . . . well, they are the King of all the pineapples! We select only the best to make the Hula o Maui. We look for almost under-ripe fruit to accentuate the fresh pineapple aromatics that are represented in the wine.

Quite possibly one of the most unique sparkling wines you’ll ever come across, the Hula o Maui is made from 100% Maui Gold pineapples, produced in the Traditional Method (Methode Champenoise). The wine is aged on the lees for 6 to 8 months to develop mouthfeel and texture but not long enough to lose its fresh fruit-forward nature.

Beginning as a trial, 100 cases were produced for the 20th anniversary of the winery. We sold out of them in a month, and we’ve been trying to keep up with the demand ever since. It is an amazing and perfectly accurate representation of Hawaii – fruity and lively.

Lokelani

Brut Sparkling Rosé

Very similar to most traditional sparkling wines from around the world, our Lokelani is a blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Lokelani, like all of our sparkling wines, is made in the Traditional Method (Methode Champenoise). The wine is then aged on the lees (dead yeast cells) between 20 to 24 months. We use a bit of red wine from our estate vineyards in the dosage, which imparts color and aromatic characteristics.

As the official flower of Maui, Lokelani has adorned the Ulupalakua landscape for many years, charming us with its vibrant pink petals and captivating fragrance. The original name of the ranch where we are located was Rose Ranch, and the estate that makes up our grounds were covered in roses including the unique and rare Lokelani. Sparkling wine is the inseparable companion of joy and festivity, the crown of celebration, and the symbol of merriment. Every day in Maui is worth celebrating.

A pale pink and energetic glass of bubbles. Aromas of fresh peach, orange blossom, brioche, and Meyer lemon.

Kula

A crisp white blend.

Maui is a white wine type of place; the heat and sunshine call for something cold and refreshing. Easy drinking, but with interest, and very food-friendly. A partnership with growers in California, as well as our estate-grown fruit come together to craft a fun “Maui Style” wine.

The beauty is in the art of blending, an often-underrated aspect of the winemaking process, skilled blending is what separates a simple wine and one that is layered in personality and balanced to perfection. The ability to take attributes from different varietals and growing regions and accentuate each of them in a single wine is an art form. Kula stylistically is a young, tropical, juicy, refreshing white wine.

This crisp, refreshing white wine leaps from the glass with aromas of ginger, peach, pomelo, and honeysuckle. On the palate, a fresh herbal quality referenced by basil comes into play. Flavors of apricot and Asian pear fill your palate.

This wine pairs beautifully with lighter, flavorful fares like tabbouleh salad, Caprese, pan-seared white fish, and miso yaki chicken or salmon. Complex in aroma and flavor this wine stands alone and will be a welcome accompaniment to any pool or beach day.

Mele

Your go-to red blend.

Easy drinking, but with interest, and very food-friendly. Beginning from a partnership with growers in California, and on occasion blended with our estate-grown fruit.

The beauty is in the art of blending… An often-underrated aspect of the winemaking process, skilled blending is what separates a simple red wine and a wine that is layered in character and balanced to perfection. The ability to take attributes from different varietals and growing regions and accentuate each of them in a single wine is an art form. Mele stylistically is a young, juicy red wine with subtle oak influences.

A medium-bodied, juicy red that leads with bright red berries, but is quickly followed with more complex flavors of baking spice, dried oregano, marjoram, and eucalyptus. This wine was crafted to pair with foods like barbecue pork ribs, lamb gyro, pasta marinara, and tri-tip with chimichurri. While this wine is dry, it is perfectly suited to drink on its own.

Lehua

A juicy raspberry wine.

Lehua was developed in response to an overabundance of raspberries from local farmers who were looking for a place to sell their plentiful crops. We jumped at the opportunity to develop another partnership within our agricultural community. The demand for Lehua became so great that now, in addition to local fruit, we also bring in raspberries from Lynden, Washington, the raspberry capital of the world.

Remaining simple in composition and yet meticulous in the process are the keys to creating this wine. Hand-picked raspberries, Haleakala rainwater, pure cane sugar, and grape neutral spirits are the only ingredients that go into making this flavorful wine. Raspberries are delicate and require precise treatment to achieve the right taste. Fermentation of the raspberries is started, but at a specific point during the process fermentation is suspended with the addition of pure grape neutral spirits. As a fortified wine, it remains very sweet and high in alcohol. Very little, if any, filtration is used to achieve the best wine possible.

This wine is decadent, pure, juicy, and has a long-lasting finish. Lehua can be sipped, poured over ice cream, mixed in a cocktail, or used in sauces and baking recipes.
