a different side of Maui
As you make your way deeper into the lush Maui countryside, you can’t miss the entrance to the winery, framed by blossoming flowerbeds and a magnificent variety of trees planted more than 150 years ago on the original Rose Ranch estate. This historic building is what we call the King’s Cottage, named after its heritage as a mountain retreat where King Kalākaua—the last reigning king of Hawai’i—and Queen Kapi’olani would come to relax and be entertained. Today, we invite you to experience this “princely hospitality” and enjoy the panoramic vistas over Maui’s southern coast and neighboring islands. At MauiWine, we take pride in our deep-rooted hospitality, and this is part of where the tradition began over a 150 years ago. Welcome to our home.
