Step onto the King’s Cottage lanai to sip wine and learn the story of this special place. Built during the 1870s to accommodate King Kalākaua, the last reigning king of Hawai’i, the King's Cottage now serves as our tasting room, and the heart of MauiWine. Guests are seated at tables and will be served by our hospitality team. We strongly encourage making reservations using RESY.
History lovers will find themselves at home as they discover the photos, records, and relics on display. The well-curated boutique offers shoppers the chance to take home an authentic piece of Maui. Relax on the Cottage lanai, taking in the scenery of ‘Ulupalakua. Relaxation and merriment are encouraged.

We feature wines under the Ulupalakua Vineyards label. Cultivated in our vineyard, just 1 mile down the road, six grape varietals are used to make these special Estate wines. On our menu, you will find a rotating selection of Chenin Blanc, Grenache, Syrah, Malbec, Viognier, Gewurztraminer, and blends. We also specialize in traditional-method sparkling wines and wines made from 100% Maui Gold pineapples.

Online booking is available for parties of 1-5. Currently, we are not booking parties over 5.
The tasting room opens at 11 am and we take reservations up to 4 pm, which allows time for guests to enjoy themselves before we close at 5 pm. Seating ends at 4 pm. Last call for drink and winery food purchase is 4:30 pm.
We hold reservations for 15 minutes without contact before canceling a reservation and offering the table to another guest. We allow 90 minutes for parties of 1-4, and no more than 120 minutes for parties of 5. Mahalo for your understanding.
We do not offer service standing at the bar. Only seated service.
The route to MauiWine will take you up Haleakala mountain, through Kula, to Ulupalakua. The route is scenic and beautiful. Visitors often find they wish to take their time along the drive and stop to enjoy the views. Please plan your travel time accordingly so that you arrive at your reservation on time. If you are running late or need to cancel please change the time of your reservation or call 808.878.6058, and understand that your late arrival may cut into the time allotted for your reservation.
Cellular service can be unpredictable en route to the winery. Please plan ahead for communications that need to be made. We are located at an elevation of 2,000 feet, in a part of the island which can often be chilly. A sweater or light jacket is recommended.
A note on food. We offer a small selection of light fare. The intention of our food offerings is to pair with our wines, enhancing the tasting experience, and are designed to be shared. Those looking for a lunch experience are encouraged to visit the Ulupalakua Ranch Store and Grill, across the street from the winery, open daily. Learn more and check out their menu here.
